Editions Atlas
(Dinky Toys made in China)

Imported by Norev for Edition Atlas, ©2008 Mattel (brand owner)
Possibly moulds from copied Dinky Toys.
Dinky Toys was set up within MECCANO Ltd by Frank Hornby. In 1964 MECCANO (and Dinky Toys) came in the hands of Lines Brothers (Tri-ang).
In 1970 MECCANO was acquired by Airfix Industries, the French operation by General Mills. In 1981 Airfix was wound up and MECCANO came into the hands of Palitoy, of General Mills. Hong Kong based Universal Holdings bought Dinky, after they already bought Matchbox (1982) and Corgi, part of Mettoy (1983). Under "Matchbox Collectibles" for some time Dinky revived. Only in September 2008, apparently Editions Atlas worked with Mattel to produce exact replica's of Dinky Toys models in China.
